Entries are accepted at any time. When 100 applications have been received the voting period will begin; no entries will be accepted during this time. The voting period will be posted on the website.
There is only one way to enter the contest by registering online at http://www.greatwebsitemakeover.com. You may enter the contest at any time during the Entry Period.
Limit one entry per company. You may only submit a website if you are an employee responsible for the company's website and are authorized to make decisions regarding said website. You may NOT enter any website that is not yours or if you are unauthorized to make decisions regarding said site. Violating entries will be disqualified.
Should you encounter any entry that is in violation of company rules, codes, procedures or policies, please write to: erez@greatwebsitemakeover.com to request its removal. Such requests will be honored within 2 business days. Should any entry be found in violation of any of the contest rules, it will be automatically disqualified.
Each entry (including the story) must be original, of entrant's own style and creation. It must not have been entered in any other competition, including other competitions conducted by the The Great Website Makeover. The story may not mention the full personal name and/or contact information of any individual that is not submitting the site themselves; nor mention the name of the company who developed the entering website. Moreover, the entry may not violate the privacy rights of any other parties. The entry may not be offensive or defamatory nor contain vulgar or profane language, as determined by The Great Website Makeover.
Entrant assigns and transfers to The Great Website Makeover all rights, title, and interest to the entry. The Great Website Makeover shall have all rights to copy, edit, publish, and use, in whole or in part, the story, and any other intellectual property protected or materials submitted by entrant, in any manner without further compensation during and after the contest period, except where prohibited by law.
Your entry will be accepted and published on the website pending a review by The Great Website Makeover. The Great Website Makeover reserves the right to deny or remove any entry for any reason during the Entry Period or the Voting Period.
Our panel of judges will rank each entry during the voting period; visitors will be allowed to place/make comments on each site.
All entries will be ranked by their average score (sum of all points received divided by the number of votes) to determine the winner. A qualified entry with the LOWEST score at the end of the Voting Period will be the winner of the contest.
The Contest is open to individuals who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry, are legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Canada or the European Union as of the time of contest entry and who have an email account as of the time of contest entry. The following promotion is intended for viewing in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Canada, ant the European Union (the "Eligibility Area") only. Do not proceed further in this site or these materials if you are not located in the Eligibility Area.
Contest subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. military installations in foreign countries, and where prohibited.
Sponsor of this Contest is The Great Website Makeover. Employees of The Great Website Makeover and their advertising agencies, affiliates, and/or promotional partners and members of their immediate families together with whom such employees are domiciled are not eligible to enter or win.
There will be one (1) Grand Prize awarded in this contest. The Grand Prize winner will receive a dollar-per-dollar match for their website, which will be designed by The Great Website Makeover. The exact project specifications will be at a sole determination of The Great Website Makeover and will be provided upon request. The Great Website Makeover will match dollar-per-dollar to a maximum of $5000.00 CDN for a grand total of $10 000.00 CDN between the entrant and The Great Website Makeover.
Winners will be notified by email and telephone. If a winner does not respond within 3 days of the date appearing on the prize notification, or fails to comply with the instructions contained in the prize notification within that time period, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification. Unclaimed prizes may not be awarded. In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of the person submitting an entry online, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the email account is registered. Winners may be required to provide evidence of identity in connection with claiming the prize.
Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, garbled, incompletely received, mutilated, or illegible, for any reason, including by reason of hardware, software, browser or network failure, malfunction, congestion or incompatibility at The Great Website Makeover website or elsewhere, will not be eligible and Sponsor is not responsible for any technical problems related to online entries. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by The Great Website Makeover. The Great Website Makeover reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate this Contest in the event that it becomes infected by a computer virus or is otherwise technically impaired or if the Contest cannot be conducted as planned by causes beyond the control of The Great Website Makeover.
Income and other taxes, if any, on the value of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners.
Acceptance of a prize constitutes consent and agreement to use winner's name, website, story, and likeness for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes, without further compensation during and after the contest period, except where prohibited. By entering and/or by accepting a prize, you agree to release The Great Website Makeover, its affiliates, and their directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising out of your participation in this Contest with respect to the awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a publicity release (where permitted by law), and/or a liability release, which must be signed and returned within 3 days of the date on the prize notification or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be chosen. By entering and/or by accepting the prize, you agree (where permitted by law) to use of your name and likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation.
No substitution of prize, including cash substitutions, except by The Great Website Makeover in which case a prize of greater or equal value will be substituted. Prizes are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash and the Grand Prize may not be exchanged.
You agree that you shall not upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, hidden code, worms, trojan horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. The Great Website Makeover reserves the right to disqualify any entrant found tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the Contest or who violates these official rules. Caution: any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and will result in disqualification of such entrant. Should such an attempt be made, The Great Website Makeover reserves the right to seek remedies and damages (including attorney's fees) from any such participant to the fullest extent of the law, including criminal prosecution.
All entries become the property of The Great Website Makeover and will not be acknowledged or returned. The Great Website Makeover is not liable for lost, stolen, misdirected, or late entries.
This Contest is governed by the laws of Canada with venue in Ontario. The formation, interpretation and performance of this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario applicable to agreements made and to be performed by Ontario residents entirely within the Province of Ontario without regard to its conflicts of law provisions.
By entering, you agree to be bound by these rules. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this promotion but in no event attorney's fees; and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
